12 Beautiful Vintage Slips from Etsy

A few weeks ago, in what can only be described as a fit of obsession, I spent several hours scouring Etsy for gorgeous vintage slips and adding them to my favorites list. Though you may not know it, slips were my introduction to the world of vintage lingerie. Affordable, accessible, and heart-meltingly beautiful, vintage slips were my nightwear and loungewear of choice for years. Even now, when I'm feeling especially nostalgic or indulgent, I'll pull a vintage black Vanity Fair nylon slip from the back of my knickers drawer and wear it around the house. It really is just the most effortless way of feeling glamorous (especially if you tend to be a bit awkward... like me).

Though my first vintage lingerie purchases were from eBay, it's been ages since I bought anything from there, and I spend quite a bit of time on Etsy nowadays. Not only are they amazing for finding new and upcoming indie designers, there's also an impressive vintage collection of treasures just waiting to be discovered. I'd almost forgotten about my vintage slip list until Sweet Nothings wrote a post all about slips last week. And once I read that, I just couldn't keep these amazing finds to myself any longer.

As with all vintage items, sizes and quantities are very limited. You'll definitely want to check your measurements against what's in the listing, and you shouldn't assume that you'll see some of these pieces, especially the more expensive ones, ever again. That said, if you love luxe details like lace applique, embroidery, and silk, vintage slips are absolutely worth a look.
