The Lingerie Addict is Featured on Vogue Italia!
I think I might die of happiness.
Vogue Italia just wrote a feature about how much they love The Lingerie Addict.
I'm in that weird headspace of needing sleep (because it's almost 1 a.m.) but being a little too wired to go to sleep (because... well, you know) so I apologize if I sound a bit loopy, but I just couldn't wait to share the news with you. I accidentally woke my fiance up a few minutes ago with my shrieks of joy, so I'm trying to channel all that energy into the blog now.
Aside from the fact that it's Vogue, this mention means a lot to me for several reasons. One is because the author of the piece, Giulia Blasi, acknowledged all of my writers by name. This September marks the one-year anniversary since Holly, Marianne, Laura, Karolina, and Kristina began writing for TLA. They've all made The Lingerie Addict a genuinely better lingerie blog, and so it makes me incredibly happy to see them getting some recognition in their own right.
Two, this means a lot to me because The Lingerie Addict has been on the fringes for a very long time. A lot of you know I don't come from the fashion industry or the lingerie industry. In fact, most of the people in either world have never even heard of TLA. So for a publication like Vogue Italia to not only notice the blog but write an article about it, really shows me that, even if I don't always see it, The Lingerie Addict is having an impact.
And the third reason? Well, as supportive and wonderful as my parents are, they aren't always quite sure of what I do. However, I know they've both heard of Vogue, so I get to show them this article today and prove that yes, their daughter actually is working. ;-)
It's after 1 a.m. now and I imagine Monday is going to be pretty busy so I'm going to bed. But before I finish up, I just wanted to say "Thank you" to everyone who reads this blog. Thank you for your comments. Thank you for sharing TLA with your friends. Thank you for understanding what we're trying to do here. I truly appreciate it... The Lingerie Addict just wouldn't be the same without you.
