You may remember the sneak peek we got early this year of Lost in Wonderland's A/W 2014 collection (that fabulous pentagram harness is hard to forget!). Well, the full collection is just beginning to hit their online store and we couldn't wait to finally share all of the images with you!
This Berlin-based luxury label certainly doesn't sacrifice fashion-forward style in its mission to create beautiful, ethically-produced lingerie. Their "Gold Smoke & Opaque Visions" collection is understatedly luxe, with subtle art nouveau references crafted in rich vegan-friendly fabrics. The harness bodysuit and garter belts are inspired by leaded glass windows of the Art Nouveau period, with the negative space of your body as integral to the design as the elastics. These pieces are quite versatile, changing their look with what they are paired with. These would look just as amazing over delicate laces as they would jerseys or meshes. I'm really liking the additional strap across the thighs on that bodysuit which secures the six-strap garters and mirrors the horizontal line of the stockings.
Sweeping, curved lines are seen throughout the collection, another nod to its Art Nouveau inspiration. The deep plunge bra has a petal shape which follows the curve of the breast. This creates such a pretty neckline and both softens and enhances the dramatic plunge. There are also arches in meshes and laces throughout the line. This architectural reference to the period adds a great deal of visual interest and emphasizes the curves of the body. I especially love the lace insets on the following bra and how the cup edge and seam are tied into the design. This is done in the negative on the gold lace bra (note how the lace is cut away to reveal an arched design on the edge of the cups). The sweeping panels in the high waist panty and garter skirt also overlay to mirror this arched design.
I was delighted to see a few new loungewear pieces available in this collection. These have a casual decadence about them, as if the wearer found them tossed on a velvet chair in the boudoir and threw them on before indulging in a glass of wine or morning tea. It's the loose fit and slightly askew seaming that make these pieces seem like well-worn heirlooms. The sheer romper is crafted of gold French Leavers lace, with flared tap pants and a scalloped edge bodice seamed with darts for shape. The black chemise has lace insets along the waist and hip that add graphic interest. The long sash wraps around the waist to tie in an empire style beneath the bust, a nod to the popular Grecian style of the Art Nouveau period.
While I love the pale blush pieces (that contrasting green lace is lovely!), as was mentioned with the sneak peek, these seem to be a bit out of place for Autumn/Winter. I would have loved to have seen these styles in their ruby colorway, or a similarly rich color. These seem more suited to a Spring/Summer line. That being said, these are strong pieces in their own right. The top bra is the plunge style edged in lace for a bit more coverage which really changes its look. Also new to the pink range are side-tie panties topped with a super-feminine ruffled garter belt.
