Lately, I've been a bit obsessed with sheer gowns. I mean, generally speaking, I'm fairly obsessed with sheer things all the time, so that part is nothing new. But I've never before craved the sweeping drama of a long, flowing sheer nightgown the way I do right now. I think Beyonce's recent 'Drunk in Love' video had something to do with it, and since I don't have a spare $3,000 to purchase the real Wendy Nichol's deal (Thanks for the temptation, Lingerie Lesbian!), I've been looking for a suitable alternative.
Getting a bit more detailed and into the fabric story, I've also lately been enamored of silk tulle. The softness of the material coupled with the transparency... there's just something very sensual about it. And I mean that in the truest sense of the word --- as in exciting and stimulating to the senses. I suppose it's just a mood. My first anniversary is next month, and I can't help but find myself paying special attention to a select few "occasion" pieces. Who knows? My love affair with nightgowns may pass as quickly as it's come... but hopefully not before I fulfill my dream of dancing around the apartment in at least one of these.
