6 Fashionable Post-Mastectomy Bras

While the post-mastectomy bra market is growing and growing rapidly, beautiful post-mastectomy bras are still relatively hard to come by. The reasons for this are, like many things in the lingerie world, rather complex. Not only is this a sector of the market with unique and specialized concerns (making it harder for traditional large scale retailers to provide options), there's often a complicated certification, training, and medical reimbursement puzzle that simply doesn't apply to non-postmastectomy bras. Understandably, it's not an area of the lingerie industry that retailers or brands approach lightly... nor should they. The stakes are too high and the cause too important to simply throw something together and hope for the best.

In the past couple of years, several companies have debuted a range of new and alluring options for the post-mastectomy bra market. No longer limited to flat jacquards in black or beige, the modern post-surgery bra world has all the accoutrements of the conventional bra industry --- color, embroidery, lace, and pattern. These new bras are contemporary, stylish even, and made to fit a wide variety of tastes.

One big caveat before starting: this article is for informational purposes only. This post does not constitute medical advice, nor is it a personal review. I'm not making any claims as to the comfort or wearability of these bras (though I definitely encourage people who are familiar with and wear mastectomy bras to leave their feedback and advice in the comments!). This is simply a trends post showing what's new in this briskly developing market.

What do you think about the growing number of options for post-mastectomy bras? If you wear or have worn post-mastectomy, what are your recommendations for other lingerie addicts?
