Sale Lingerie of the Week: Myla Dominetta Plunge and Balconette Bras

It feels a bit odd to say this, but I've felt a bit disenchanted with lingerie lately. Oh, I still love the genre as a whole; I don't think I'll ever lose my deep and abiding passion for intimates. But sometimes (and I imagine this is partially a side effect of having written about lingerie for the better part of a decade now), I just feel like I'm seeing the same thing, season after season. Where's the uniqueness, the excitement, the experimentation?

Fortunately, one of the things that can still work my blood into a fever is a gorgeous lace, especially if it's a black lace. There's just something so inherently decadent about lace to me; it represents something that exists almost purely for its aesthetic value. Is lace necessary to the construction of a bra? No, not really. But does it add something that just can't be duplicated by other fabrics? Yes, very much so.

Myla is a brand that I bought quite a bit from several years ago, but that I've since cooled off on. I just felt like I wasn't seeing enough that was different, modern, or original by the brand. However, in recent months, I've become newly intrigued by Myla. Perhaps it's because my tastes are changing, but some of it might also be because Myla is recapturing that spirit of luxury I first fell in love with and coveted 8 years ago. In an era where people are calling $50, microfiber bras "luxurious," I can't help but be seduced by lingerie that uses real luxury materials like French leavers lace, delicate tulle, and rose gold fittings. It's a reminder of why I fell in love with lingerie in the first place all those years ago.

Myla currently has two variations of the Dominetta bra on sale. Both are nonpadded, with one a high apex plunge style and the other a half cup balconette. At the moment, they're both more than 75% off, reduced from an original price of $310 to a sale price of $73. Of course, sizes and quantities are limited; there also aren't any matching knickers. But my goodness...certainly that's a small price to pay for wearing something this exquisite?
