Harlow and Fox: A/W 2015 Preview

Harlow & Fox Cordelia Robe

We have been big fans of Harlow and Fox since the UK-based brand's debut just over a year ago. Specializing in classic silhouettes crafted in exquisite silks and laces, they are dedicated to offering "luxury" intimates in DD-G cups. This is no small feat as fit issues become more challenging with larger cup sizes, especially when working with incredibly delicate fabrics. As with prior collections, Harlow and Fox's Autumn/Winter 2015 is elegant and absolutely lush.

You'll notice the brand's classic 'Eleanor' range (our columnist, Krista, gave it a glowing review!) becomes more dramatic than ever in rich indigo blue. Harlow and Fox's fine attention to detail is seen in sumptuous, silk-lined bra cups edged in dramatically scalloped lace and luxurious knickers with finely bound edges and tiny covered buttons. The garter belt is absolutely stunning, with a fit that works especially well for women with curves. It sits at the waist, with a wide front panel that disguises the tummy while showing off that delectable Leavers lace. A sassy lace flounce around the curve of the hips emphasizes an hourglass silhouette. Also in the collection is a lovely half slip (hooray for the return of half slips that emphasize glamour over shapewear) and a robe with richly edged sleeves and hem.

Intricate black laces take center stage in the rest of the collection as well. The popular fringed 'Augusta' range is offered this year in vivid teal. Laser-cut embroidered lace is reminiscent of wrought iron gates surrounding mysterious estates and is used to great effect in the cups of the bra and front of the briefs. The back of the briefs has a cheeky keyhole opening topped with a slim tassel that sashays as you strut your stuff. As seen in their A/W 2014 collection, the fringed kimono robe is a real showstopper. Sweeping strands of silk cording are hand-knotted to create a fringe that caresses ankles and knees and has us dreaming of Gatsby days. The Falke peacock feather edged stockings are perfectly on-point too, don't you think?

Harlow and Fox's robes are truly breathtaking. Generously cut to allow for ease of fit for fuller busts, they can really be worn by women of all sizes. A smart move for a brand that is targeting a narrow audience. In addition to the lace and fringed silk robes, there is also a regal paisley devore (burnout velvet) robe that shimmers with color down to your ankles. But the true highlight of the collection? The 'Viola', a gossamer-fine, sheer tulle robe that is nearly transparent, allowing the wide bands of Leavers lace to take center stage. Tied with a wide silk sash, this stunner gives us a peek at a decadent long line bra that we can't wait to see when it's released.

What do you think of Harlow and Fox's A/S 2015 collection? Do you think there should be more "luxury" brands in the full bust market?
