Looks like I’m not the only TLA writer with swim on the brain this week! After a brutal winter here in the Northeast, spring is finally trying to emerge, which means summer is just around the corner! As I think about those lazy Saturdays ahead on the beach, it’s time to explore my options for the swimwear I’ll be sporting! Combing the pages of my usual favorite sites for swim, I started to see some trends emerge. I was so curious about the trends that I looked beyond just fabulous finds for the full busted, to find options for all sizes in both one and two piece looks.
See below for the 20 swimsuits that will have you on trend with this season’s hottest graphic prints, sexy straps and cutouts, and retro-inspired high-waisted bottoms. There are even some looks that combine multiple trends, making them a must have for any fashionista!
What trend will you be wearing this summer?
Once again, graphic prints are all the rage in swim. From tribal to triangles and the new ready-to-wear favorite, Aztec, these bold prints will have you making a statement seaside.
Not only do I love, love, love the print and silhouette of this swimsuit, but love that it is available through size 24. Swimsuits For All has an abundance of fashion forward plus size styles, so if this doesn’t work for you, there are plenty of options! Currently retailing for $58.50, this is a great deal.
This may be “the one” for me. As a woman with an overflowing swimsuit drawer, I’m a little obsessed with this one. While I’ve seen a lot of styles I’ve liked, this is the one I actually love. This vibrant print in a flattering bandeau style will be perfect for sunning seaside. I’ve long been a fan of the fit of Freya for full bust, so I’m looking forward to purchasing this one soon!
Asos has an ample assortment of swim this season. This one caught my eye immediately. This versatile set (the straps are removable) not only features a fun and festive print, but is also has those darling, vibrant green side ties. At barely over $50, it’s one to consider for your collection.
Graphic prints aren’t restricted to bikinis alone! This tribal print suit is proof that a one piece can be a true stunner. In sizes 10-24, this will naturally be a crowd pleaser!
In researching for this post, I found the brand Sunsets. This is the first time I’d noticed the brand, which provides a wide range of options for full busts. Sunsets brings a graphic print to this tankini, another option for those wanting to embrace the trend with more coverage.
Trina Turk is a brand synonymous with bold looks. Print and patterns are par for the course on her simple, strapless looks. This look is no exception.
Straps and Cutouts
Silhouettes featuring strappy details and cutouts are all the rage and not for the faint of heart! I envision these pieces being packed for a weekend getaway to St. Barts or Ibiza, but who says you can’t channel that somewhere closer to home.
While this number looks relatively standard from the front, the back is where all the magic happens! This criss-cross look may give you some funky tan lines, but well worth it! The color featured here, Caribbean, is my favorite of the three available, but you choose your favorite.
This vivid purple bikini is a beauty! I imagine it being flattering on multiple skin tones. The uniquely styled “cage” top accommodates up to a D cup. Retailing at just under $70, this would be a great investment.
I recently became acquainted with Oye Swimwear and have been hooked ever since! The brand, which features all handmade pieces, seamlessly balances chic and edgy. Luxurious materials and sexy cutouts make for an alluring look like the one below. Perfect for relaxing on a yacht somewhere!
Midriff lattice straps are a fun way to embrace this trend! With the added plunge, this suit is undoubtedly sexy. In a delicious shade of coral, this suit fits sizes 0 to 14.
The strappy trend isn’t restricted to smaller sizes alone. This black and silver “midkini” incorporates cut outs on the form flattering bottom as well as a little peek-a-boo on the sweetheart-shaped, long line top. Available through size 24, it’s a winner!
A hint of skin here and a hint of skin there. Simply sexy.
The retro, high-waisted style is also hot this season! Flattering on many figures, this classic and feminine silhouette offers something for everyone. Some styles feature a softer, vintage palette while others capitalize on the graphic print trend or other bold colors for a more modern look.
Black and white is always classic and this simple two-piece is no exception. Not only does it feature the high-waisted silhouette, but also includes some cutouts, making it even more on-trend and a perfect choice for this summer.
This swimsuit is absolutely fabulous! I love the intense colors and fun Aztec print. The halter style and sweet ruffle on the front make this a winner. At $65, I’m impressed! This may be one of my new favorite brands.
Gotta love florals! Especially when they include such rich colors. This look features a structured, bustier-style top and a low leg bottom for a true retro look.
Graphic prints again take center stage with this striking look! The sweetheart neckline is a perfect complement to the high waist bottom.
In my everyday life, I’m a huge fan of the color block, so it is no wonder that this suit immediately caught my eye. (And Cora’s this week as well!) I love the boldness of the pink complemented by the pops of emerald and citron. This form-flattering style is a fantastic option for sizes 14-24.
Full bust ladies can also take advantage of this trend! Panache is a name well associated with full cup styles and doesn’t fail to impress with this take on the high waist trend. I love the contrast of the solid and floral print. The solid, in charcoal, is a bit more intriguing than a basic black. Both the balconet and bandeau tops complement the high waist bottom.
For those who want a non-striped nautical look, this sweet little number is perfect! Featuring an adorable anchor pattern, this suit evokes the essence of an earlier time. The crisp white will be beautiful against bronze skin tones!
What were your favorites? Will you be purchasing any of these styles?
