Our Columnists’ Lingerie Picks of the Month: October

Kristina: Lucky me! I am officially the proud owner of this beautiful Chantelle bra set from their Paris Paris collection. This exquisite group features an intricate jacquard pattern which creates a convincing tromp l’oeil effect of delicate leavers lace. The effect is so remarkable that you can’t help but to touch and examine it in person just to believe your eyes. And since it is as comfortable as it is stylish, I predict this set will soon become a trusty staple in my lingerie wardrobe.

Karolina: Sockbox’s website sends me into a frenzy of lingerie lust that the world has never seen before.  There’s literally too many gorgeous garments there to behold – and I seriously struggled to pick out this bodysuit from the rest of their offerings (just look at some of those robes – utterly stunning, and perfect for swishing around the house… Or maybe even somewhere a little more glamorous!).  The Gentle Orchid Bodysuit stood out to me in particular as it’s so fantastically luxurious and versatile.  The details are just perfect: the flowing lace, oversized chiffon bows and those adorable suspender clips.  Irresistible!

Laura: Another vote for Chantelle’s Paris-Paris collection! This looks like a lace overlay, but it’s actually a lace pattern stitched onto the bra cup.  Not only is this cool and beautiful illusion, but it also makes for a smoother fit under clingy tops.

Marianne: With Halloween (my favorite holiday) here, it’s no wonder I’m feeling a little… vampy.  Hopeless Lingerie’s ‘Ellen’ Elastic Body Harness suits that mood eerily well.  Despite its bold look, I can see lots of styling possibilites, as it could be worn not just with any bra or bodysuit, but even over, say, a fitted turtleneck dress to add a little spice to your fall look.  Hopeless Lingerie is handmade to order, so the only downside is you can’t incorporate it into your spooky costume, but its arrival would surely give you something to be thankful for in November.  The harness is available in 6 sizes, with adjustable straps all around for a perfected fit, and retails for $60.

Holly: The Lola Luxe Basque has been a hit for Bravissimo in several different colorways, and was recently released in this luscious blackberry version. While this basque is pretty, it’s also one of the most unique pieces on the market. The cups are designed to be truly supportive, and sizing goes up to a K cup in 30 through 38 bands. This is a basque that is ready for the bedroom or a long day at work. Previous versions of this have sold out rapidly, so make sure to grab your size as soon as you can! I’m not sure lots of size choice will be around for the holidays.

Our Columnists’ Lingerie Picks of the Month: September

Kristina:

Love at first sight! That’s what I felt the first time I laid eyes on this breathtaking chiffon robe by Jenny Packham. I don’t know if it’s the delicately scalloped lace, fiery hue or dramatic pooling hemline, but I can’t get this piece out of my head! And with a retail price in the quadruple digits I fear it is fated to remain unattainable for all of eternity. But hey, a girl can dream right?

Holly:

I’ve been thinking a lot about transitional fashion lately, and this Satine Floral Bra fits right into my autumn wardrobe. It’s bright but still feels crisp like autumn lingerie should, and is a supportive plunge shape that works under almost anything. The best Bravissimo offerings go fast, so make sure you pick one up before they’re gone!

Marianne:

Since buying the Josie by Natori Mya Day Bra in black and silver on a whim a couple months ago, I’ve quickly become obsessed.  This wire-free lace bralette has a subtle 1/4 pad and the result is surprisingly shapely, and easily the most comfortable bra I’ve ever worn.  The style comes in a few color ways (the Josie “Ginger” bra seems to be identical in fit and construction) and with a bit of searching online you can find the style on sale for around $20 or so.  Even the full list price of $38 is well worth it for the flattering fit and incredible comfort.  Get one before they’re gone! Karolina:
I’m loving the contrast of sheer and opaque silks in this crop top and the way the floatiness of the chiffon is offset by the bold gold hardware.  This piece is a perfect blend of innerwear and outerwear; I can imagine so many gorgeous ways of styling this, whether layered over a casual vest top or paired with some naughty nipple pasties!
Laura:
I’m going to shamelessly plug my own piece! September means many things, the end of scorching heat, the beginning of cozier dressing, homework, shorter days.  I’m always excited that Fall means I want to start wearing loungewear around the house instead of immediately stripping and throwing ice at my face.  The Screen Goddess Teddy from Lola Haze is a great Autumn transitional piece to heat things up, while keeping your cool.  Ivory silk top with sexy lace inset and mesh panty, with removable brooch for a little bit of glamour.

Our Columnists’ Lingerie Picks of the Month: August 2012

Starting this month we’ll be debuting “Lingerie Picks of the Month” from our team of writers. Much like our Lingerie of the Week feature, they’ll share the pieces that have especially caught their eye lately. I hope you enjoy reading their suggestions as much as I did! ~Cora

Kristina:

La Perla has done it again for their Fall/Winter 2012 collection titled Oriental Suite. This exquisite chemise features lace clamshell cups reminiscent of Japanese fans that create an intriguing, gravity-defying illusion. Supported only by fabric braces down the sides, the cups are complimented by a luxurious satin obi style waistband and pleated skirt. The full collection is equally as breathtaking and I can’t wait to review all the pieces in person so I can shamelessly drool over the expert craftsmanship & quality of each design!

Karolina:

When they see the word ‘latex’ most people will immediately think of BDSM and other fetish connotations.  With this bra, Très Bonjour have steered away from those completely – it’s such a fresh and directional design and I adore the Art-Deco style ornamentation.  Best of all, it’s made to measure. This is as luxurious as latex can get and I’m absolutely smitten!

Marianne:

Hopeless Lingerie’s “Omega” garter knickers are sleek and bold in solid black with functional garters as well as strappy accents around the legline.  In a bamboo-spandex blend, I can only imagine how soft and comfortable they feel.  All the straps are adjustable, allowing for a custom fit on your curves.  At $96, they’re a bit of a splurge, but all Hopeless Lingerie is handmade and the design is stunning.

Holly:

I’ve been really in love with bird prints lately, so I’m thrilled to see this bra from Cleo. It’s cute without being frilly and Cleo bras always give people the most flattering shape. I’ll definitely be adding it to my collection soon!
