Ask the Addict: Backless, Strapless Adhesive Bras for Full Busts?

Fashion Forms’ new lace strapless/backless. Unfortunately only available up to a D cup.

Today’s Ask the Addict question comes from a TLA Tumblr follower who writes:

“I have a backless dress that I want to wear for an event, but I can’t seem to find the right bra for it. I’ve been Googling strapless, backless, and adhesive bras, but I haven’t seen one that I think would lift and support me (I’m a 34D). I value your opinion on lingerie and would love any advice you could provide! Thank you!”

I can understand your dilemma! Most adhesive bras only come in cup sizes A thru C. If you’re a D or DD cup, I recommend trying Fashion Forms. They make backless, strapless, adhesive bras up to a DD cup but, unfortunately, not beyond. It also appears that some of their adhesive bras are better than others, so I definitely suggest reading the customer reviews.

Ask the Addict: Orange Lingerie?

A Flo Foxworthy Design

Today’s “Ask the Addict” question comes from a TLA Tumblr follower, Madelinne, who writes:

“You posted the most gorgeous orange corset (Editor’s Note: By Flo Foxworthy, shown above) – which got me on the hunt for orange and pumpkin colored lingerie. Any ideas? My google search was fairly fruitless.”

Even though it’s Halloween season, I hadn’t really thought about orange lingerie before now…but thanks for the suggestion! Wearing something bright orange is a great way for people to indulge in the season (Autumn and Halloween) without necessarily going the “Sexy Costume” route. Below is a quick round-up of what I found. As always, click the photo to view the product directly.

Anthropologie Lacy Color Pop Panty – $16.00

Hips & Curves Stretch Lace Chemise – $24.95 (sale price)

Hanky Panky ‘Screaming Orange’ Boyshort – $29.00

TEN High Waisted Brief – $45.00

TOMgirl Comfort Bra – $47.00

Love Claudette Dessous Sucre – $78.00 (both pieces)

Ask the Addict: Where to Find Pretty, Plus Sized Tights?

Today’s Ask the Addict feature comes from a Tumblr follower, who writes:

I know you’ve posted it before but my locating skills apparently suck today–best recommendations for plus sized tights? I love the ones in the Top 25 [Tights], I’m just looking for stuff that will fit! :)

Of course! While the HUE Opaque tights in the original post are available in plus sizes (fitting up to 300 pounds), there are several more stylish options available as well.

Sock Dreams has a staff tested plus-size legwear section, where everything fits at least a 1X/US 14. Sock Dreams is also really good about giving detailed stretch measurements; for example, how large a thigh, calf, or hip an item will accommodate.

We Love Colors’ plus sized tights fit up to 375 pounds and come in over 51 colors (striped, solid, or fishnet) as well as 11 varieties of tie-dye.

Foot Traffic offers a ton of printed tights, in addition to more basic  (but still colorful) opaque and wool options, that fit up to 225 pounds.

On the department store side of things, Torrid carries several nice styles.

Finally, Pamela Mann makes several styles of fashion forward, plus size tights (mostly in patterns involving black) fitting up to a UK size 32/ US size 28.

Happy Shopping!

Ask the Addict: Where Can I Find White, Bridal Nipple Pasties for my Wedding?

Today’s ‘Ask the Addict‘ question comes from reader Sarah who writes,

My wedding is in 4 months and I am wondering where I could find white nipple pasties. My wedding dress has a built in bra but I still want nipple pasties (or something) to match my garter belt, thong and stockings. I have been able to find an array of other colors, except white! Essentially I need to complete the look.  Any suggestions?

Definitely! I’m a big fan of Nipples, which are basically adhesive nipple pasties or pretty breast petals, depending on your point of view. They have an entire bridal line, which you can find here – http://bristols6.com/bride.html. My personal favorite is the sparkling sequin heart from the “Something Blue” 2-pack (retail: $15.00) shown above. Hope this helps!

Ask the Addict: Where to Find Plain, Black, High-Waisted Knickers?

Via: Vintage Stockings Archive

Today’s Ask the Addict features comes from one of our Tumblr followers, who writes:

Might you know where to get plain, black high waisted knickers? Or even all-lace ones. I only seem to be able to find the lace panelled ones or mesh kind. Thank you!

Great question! For plain, black, high waist knickers that you can’t see through and that don’t have mesh panels, I recommend Rago and Hopeless Lingerie. Rago makes an all-satin as well as an all-lace knicker, and Hopeless handmakes a super soft bamboo jersey one. All three are shown below; just click the photo to visit the site. Hope this helps!

Rago High Waist Satin Brief – $15.00

Rago High Waist Lace Powernet Brief – $22.75

Hopeless Lingerie Jersey Knickers- $45.00

Ask the Addict: Pretty Longline Bras for the Wedding Day?

via: BHLDN

Today’s ‘Ask the Addict‘ feature comes Tumblr reader mysyntheticlife, who writes:

Do you have any recommendations for sexy longline bras? I’m looking for one for my wedding. Thank you for sharing your lingerie passion, you post so much beauty. Cheers!

Excellent question! Though you requested a sexy longline bra for the wedding day, I would remiss if I didn’t at least mention that comfort also matters. In a big way. There’s so much happening on your wedding day, that I’d hate for uncomfortable undergarments to be one of your worries. After all, there’s lots of time to be sexy after the big day.

Now that’s that out of the way, here are a few longline bras you may like. Click the photo to be taken to the product page:

Gossard, via Figleaves – $56.00

Va Bien Lacey Bustier – $59.00

Fortnight, via Lynn Steven – $110.00

Lou Paris, via BHLDN – $125.00

Stella McCartney, via Lille Boutique – $306.00

Finally, Journelle carries a superbasic white longline bra from Cosabella that sells for $116.00.

Hope this helps with your shopping! And congratulations!

Ask the Addict: Where to Find Jessica’s Red & Black Lace Corset from True Blood?

Left: True Blood, Top Right: Lingerie Diva, Bottom Right: Frederick's of Hollywood

This is just a quickie Ask the Addict. One of the questions I’ve been getting a lot lately is, “Where can I find Jessica Hamby’s Red Riding Hood corset from True Blood?”

While I don’t know exactly where the costume designer found the piece Deborah Ann Woll is wearing, I have seen two very similar looking corsets from Frederick’s of Hollywood and Lingerie Diva. They’re priced at $60 and $69, respectively.

Hope this helps everyone who’s been looking and if you’ve found a similar one, please share it with us in the comments!
