Is Thoughtful, Romantic, Size-Inclusive Lingerie Possible? Meet Inspire Psyche Terry

The first thing that stands out about Inspire Psyche Terry’s lingerie is their motto, FIT. Standing for Fashion, Innovation and Technique, FIT is a clever little play on words. Obviously, every brand says they’re obsessed with fit, but Inspire Psyche Terry shows they understand you need more than fit to make it in today’s lingerie landscape. You need a story. You need a purpose. You need a mission. Inspire Psyche Terry has all that and more.
Named after Psyche, the Greek goddess of the soul, Designer Psyche Terry infuses the myth’s whimsical notions of love, ambition, fearlessness and perseverance into her own life…and these very same concepts appear in Inspire Psyche Terry. The line’s debut Spring/Summer 2017 collection features a range of feminine, timeless silhouettes with romantic details and thoughtful embellishments, all aimed at empowering to love themselves and follow their own individual aspirations – much like the brand’s namesake goddess Psyche.
It’s no accident that comfort, beauty, and durability are all woven together seamlessly in Inspire Psyche Terry’s first collection. Psyche spoke to over 40 individual women, listening closely to their everyday needs and concerns. They told Psyche what worked and what didn’t. She crafted the line accordingly, recruiting intimates experts from some of the top names in the industry to design high-quality lingerie that would fit and function in every size available, from Small to 4X, because as many as people as possible deserve to be inspired by beautiful lingerie.
Inspire Psyche Terry has a wide range of products in their very first collection, from bras to lingerie to loungewear, and each style shows both attention to detail and serious forethought. Sometimes, there’s this idea that inexpensive lingerie has to skimp on these kinds of considerations, but Inspire Psyche Terry offers an alternative to that narrative.
Focusing on their bras, for example, the line offers four bra styles designed to work with your wardrobe for both fashion and fit. The plunge style has no-spill cups, specifically designed to frame the bust at its fullest parts, giving both security and push-up without padding. In addition, the straps on this bra are slightly wider and stronger to help them stay in place all day.
Next, Inspire Psyche Terry’s multiway bra is designed with a slightly taller cup than traditional bras so the breasts can stay fully seated inside, no matter how you choose to wear the straps. Furthermore, the band has silicone grips inside to help it stay firm and in place on the body. The same slip-resistant straps from the plunge are also featured on the multiway, for consistent security no matter what style you opt for.
Inspire Psyche Terry’s longline bra design features “Inspire Her Wings” to help keep the longline bodice anchored all day long. Finally, the balconette is made from stretchier fabric than usual, to accommodate those normal yet subtle changes in bust size from day to day. It also has plush, foam straps that won’t dig in to the shoulders, making it comfortable for all day (and all night!) wear.
Even the loungewear and lingerie is designed with this extra support in mind. Every seam and detail is chosen for comfort and fit, no matter if you wear a Small or a 4X. The super-soft, lightweight fabric is non-restrictive, because no one wants to wear uncomfortable loungewear. And all lingerie designs feature either built-in bralette cups or bra cups designed to be fully adjustable, supportive, and comfortable, no matter your size.
Every lingerie brand calls itself “empowering” or “size inclusive” nowadays, but Inspire Psyche Terry truly walks the walk by offering products up to a 4X (US dress size 24). Price accessibility is also a focus. Not a single piece costs over $70, and most items are in the $36 to $65 range. While it’s usually the case that new brands aren’t available from the department stores you know and love, Inspire Psyche Terry will be sold at Macys from March 1st, both online and at select physical stores nationwide (in addition to the company’s own online shop, of course).
In a media release, Psyche Terry said, “I designed this line of lingerie and sleepwear to embody extraordinary soul, desire and beauty for today’s modern woman aspiring to greatness and success. I believe that every woman should be inspired to live a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life no matter what size she is – starting with her lingerie!”
After launching with a stunningly diverse photo campaign and already generating excitement from major influencers like The Curvy Fashionista’s Marie Denee, Inspire Psyche Terry is fulfilling that goal. I can’t wait to see what they unveil next.
