Sale Lingerie of the Week: Made by Niki String Fringe Bra

When Made by Niki released their very first string collection in 2011, it caused a sensation. Like Fleur of England's lace appliqué Boudoir Bra, I consider Made by Niki's string bra and skirt to be one of today's great modern lingerie stories. When I'm thinking of pieces that may eventually be part of a 21st century lingerie exhibition, this is one undoubtedly one.

For reasons unknown, everything on Made by Niki's website - including this season's current collection - is on sale for 50% off or more. While I hope this massive clearance simply means the brand is going in a different direction (and thus wants to get rid of old stock), I can't help but wonder if it's a bad sign of things to come. Sometimes a sale can mean something more.

Regardless of the future, this is a great opportunity to pick up one of the most innovative collections in recent memory for an almost obscene price. While I recommend the original string bra and skirt pictured above and below (what can I say? I'm a little nostalgic.), every iteration of the string collection (including a brilliant black & grey version at the bottom of this post) is included in the sale.
