Between the Sheets F/W 2014: Loungewear That is Over the Moon

While I want to be comfy and cozy while lazing about the house, I've never been a loungewear kinda gal. Most of what's out there is too sporty, too juvenile, or just too plain boring for my taste. After seeing these new pieces from Between The Sheets, though, I am ready to embrace this whole lounge philosophy and laze in style to my heart's content.

TLA has been a big fan of Between the Sheets for years. In fact, Cora's very first designer interview was with BTS designer Layla L'obatti way back in the day. It's been wonderful to watch the brand continue to grow, honing their elegant, effortless design aesthetic over the years. Between the Sheets creates pieces you just want to live in, that take you from running errands in the morning to relaxing in front of the fire in the evening to falling into bed at the end of the day. From a girl that never leaves the house without lipstick, I could see myself incorporating these pieces into my days (and nights!).

Their F/W 2014 line features two collections, Over the Moon and Curtain Call. Over the Moon pieces are crafted of fine jersey in rich jewel tones that instantly add glamor. Lace colorblocked insets add a peek of skin and provide both visual and textural interest. I especially love the sloping curves on the upper bodice and back of the swingy babydoll (super cute worn as a top!). Contrasting piping along the neck edges adds graphic appeal (that long sleeved top would look great worn out in the world with a slouchy sweater or blazer). New to this season is a long-sleeved bodysuit that totally speaks to the dancer in all of us. Doesn't that slouchy ruched front (off the shoulder is so sexy) and scooped back make you want to do twirls or a shimmy while making dinner? Add the new over-the-leg socks or legwarmers from BTS' new legwear accessories line and we can all relive our girlhood Flashdance dreams.

The Curtain Call collection features fabric that has a jersey knit on one side and a terry cloth on the other. Pieces feature both sides of the fabric in various combinations for textural and visual appeal. While I'm normally not one for sporty looks, I'm really enjoying these. There's certainly a lot of playful sass in the designs with just enough polish to make them special. These are pieces I could totally see wearing to walk the dog, hit the farmer's market, or go to Pilates. That deep sapphire blue and charcoal combo is really stunning, kind of like shades of the night sky.

Between the Sheets will begin offering these pieces for sale on their website later this Fall, just in time for lounging in style once the temperatures begin to drop!
