Now that summer is nearly in full swing, it can be hard to fathom three months of bras with the built-in structure of the Eiffel tower. I love to switch to more sheer lingerie in the summer, both as a way to beat the heat and as an excuse to wear lots of pretty and delicate lingerie. The lingerie in this article includes both traditional bras and pieces without built-in underwire for sleeping or lounging around your house. It also includes some knockout special occasion pieces like the black slip from Dottie’s Delights.

It’s harder to find sheer lingerie in larger cup sizes, but all of these pieces would be a great starting point. If you’ve never purchased sheer silk or mesh lingerie, summer is a great time to give it a try. For more information about each piece, just click the photo.

Dessous Longline Bra by Claudette:

It’s impossible to talk about the full bust bra market and sheers without including the Dessous line by Claudette as part of the discussion. They’ve now expanded the line to include longline bras, which I suspect will fly off the shelves. I love the hot coral color of the polka dots against the taupe background, which is perfect for hot weather and super stylish.

Evelyn Nesbit Slip by Dottie’s Delights:

Black lingerie is always a classic and this slip by Dottie’s Delights is absolutely timeless. The provocative sheer lace top is refined while still radiating major sex appeal. If you’re looking for a special occasion piece this summer, you can’t go wrong with this slip. Dottie’s Delights does custom sizing, so just contact the designer for more information.

Apple Tart Lace and Silk Shoulder Bra by Mimi Holliday:

Shades of green are right on trend this summer! I love how Mimi Holliday combines sheers and traditional lace elements to make a bra that is fashionable and fun. This plunge bra would also be perfect under a huge range of necklines, making it a great investment for summer.

Bold Botanics Short Night Robe by Beautiful Bottoms:

I now own two of these robes and I live in them once it gets really hot. They’re gorgeous and so breathable when the weather outside is really awful and sticky. I’m generally over florals, but this pattern based on botanical drawings is just so beautiful. Sizing is generous – a size L fits me at a size 12/14 and a 34HH bra size.

Vega Longline Bra by Fortnight Lingerie:

Fortnight Lingerie is notable for making bralettes up to an F cup, as well as 28 back bralettes. This peach longline bra is a great summer basic that will go under everything. If you hate putting on underwires during the summer, this bra is a great alternative if you’re in their size range.

Sheer Sleep Set by Sandmaiden Sleepwear:

This set is a new offering from Sandmaiden that is based on the colors seen in seaglass. I love the rich green hues in this set as well as the barely there sheer mesh. If you don’t care about support when you sleep or don’t like it, then this set is the perfect treat for summer.

Which piece on this list is your favorite? What’s your favorite lingerie fabric for summer?

Fortnight is not really full bust unfortunately – they stop at an F and their sizing runs small. LOVE their designs, but their size range is pretty limited. That dottie’s delights négligée is so fabulous, and I have been lusting after just that Claudette set for quite some time.

Full bust is generally considered D – K, so Fortnight does qualify! Do I wish there were more options in higher cup sizes? Obviously yes (although my bank account might disagree). I do wish that designers would start making similar designers for larger cup sizes or expand their current ranges – it’d be great to see this set in both an F cup and a K cup!

That green sheer mesh set needs to be in my life!

Though I love that you have actually found underwear that is for full-busted women, I hate the fact that all the models are not full-busted. :-( I feel very… ample compared to those ladies. Especially the last, green number… I can just imagine what I would look like wearing that, and… X-D
I know that you cannot influence much what kind of photos are available, so this is not a rant against you in any way, I love your blog.
