I’m one of those people who never thinks about swimwear until right before I need it, which is invariably when all of the best options have sold out. This year I’m determined to plan ahead and pick up several suits for my 2015 beach vacation, even if it involves carefully hoarding them until January of next year. While the full bust swimsuit market has gotten a lot better, the cutest options tend to sell out incredibly quickly. I know it’s not even quite May yet, but trust me — planning and buying ahead is the way to go here. As always, just click the image to find out more about the swimsuit!
Santorini Swim Top by Fantasie:
I love this cool and sophisticated pattern by Fantasie. I normally gravitate towards kitschy swimsuit patterns, but this one is simple and beautiful. Fantasie tends to design smart patterns that work for a variety of ages and body types, so I’m pleased to see them releasing more great options this season. Even better, their swimsuits are amazingly well made and last forever.
ZIELONY WĄŻ Bikini by Comexim:
Comexim is starting to become more popular among full busted buyers due to their amazingly creative bras, but their swimwear is equally as covetable. This gorgeous blue bikini is unexpected, stylish and fun. Even better, their bikinis should create the same great uplifted shape as their bras. If you’re nervous about buying overseas, A Sophisticated Pair is starting to stock their bras — email her to ask about access to their swimwear as well.
Marabella Underwired Bikini Top by Pour Moi:
Pour Moi swimsuits have been popular for years now due to their great fit and budget friendly prices. Pour Moi produces new pretty colors each season, but I’m especially enamored of this lovely navy/slate colorway. If you’re looking for an easy way to refresh your bikini collection, you can’t go wrong with this one.
Yacht Queen Bikini by Black Cat Bikinis:
Cora did a great in-depth article on Black Cat Bikinis last week, but I love this white one so much that I thought it deserved another spotlight. White swimwear can be hit or miss (at least if you plan to actually get in the water) but Black Cat makes such high quality pieces I wouldn’t worry about this one becoming transparent once I got in the water. Even better, this underwired swim top is available up to an H cup (although I suspect that is US sizing and not UK sizing, so be aware).
Shockwave Swim Top by Curvy Kate:
This new offering from Curvy Kate reminds me of a superhero! I love the bold colors and the zig zag pattern. If you haven’t tried Curvy Kate swimwear before, the bottoms tend to run small. Size up if you want more coverage or are in between sizes!
Hula Girl Hawaiian Fuller Bust Bikini Top by ASOS:
ASOS has been producing some great lingerie for several seasons, but their swimsuit offerings are equally great. This swimsuit comes in DD through F cups and has a great retro look pattern. It reminds me of those tropical Elvis movies — in the best possible way!
Sundaes by the Seaside One Piece by Letters From Evie:
Who can resist a swimsuit with ice cream cones on it? This Bravissimo exclusive swimsuit is adorable and practical. Sizes range from D though G and band sizes 30 through 40.
Geometric Padded Bikini Set by Made in Preston:
This fun geometric bikini is available in both 26 and 28 band sizes, which makes it ideal for those of you who struggle to find great bras and swimwear. Made in Preston is a newer company (although the owner previously ran The Big Bra Bar) that focuses on full bust clothing, lingerie and swimwear. I love that this suit is pink without feeling like something that belongs on a Barbie doll.
Jecca Longline Bikini Top by Cleo:
This suit has been the hot swimsuit of the season so far, so if you want to pick it up I’d definitely grab it sooner rather than later. The pattern and the colors are great, but I’m mostly thrilled to see longlines being introduced into the full bust swimwear world. Let’s hope other companies follow Cleo’s lead and try out this silhouette for some larger cup sizes — this is only available up to an H cup, but it is available in a 28 band.
The Mix and Match Option:
With companies making more and more swimwear separates these days, it’s easy to get the look you want by mixing and matching pieces from different companies. For example, this flamingo look that I’ve fallen in love with from Fables by Barrie. While their one pieces and swim tops aren’t suited for full bust ladies, it’s easy enough to find a basic bra sized swim top to match. The one here is from Pour Moi and is currently on sale at Figleaves. With a little internet searching, it’s easy enough to mix and and match your way to your dream swimsuit!
