The bondage inspired harness trend showed up several seasons ago and shows no sign of stopping anytime soon. All over the country, women are incorporating rings, leather and extra straps into both their underwear and outerwear looks. Lots of designers are creating multifunctional bondage inspired pieces for women, but several are creating fashion forward and trendy versions for plus size ladies as well. Today I’m featuring five pieces that can help you embrace your wild side, as well as some pieces that can become the basis for some great lingerie inspired outerwear looks.

Lipstick Red Velvet Elastic Choker Bra Strap by Esty Lingerie:
Esty Lingerie has been making these choker straps for several seasons now for those of us who like strappy accessories without committing to a whole look. These straps attach easily to any bra and come in a wide range of colors, styles and details. Whether you want sparkly skulls or just a basic black harness, Esty offers the option. If you’re new to this trendy look, this can be a great way to try it out without spending much money. These layer nicely under dresses and shirts and give you that fashionable harness look.

Satin and Lace Strap French Balconette Bra by Cacique:
Not all strappy pieces are made out of black leather! I love the classic look that this set from Lane Bryant offers. The beautiful satin and lace details work perfectly with the sexy half cup cut and strappy details. The whole set is a nice balance between comfortable coverage and extremely sexy design. If you’re looking for a gorgeous Valentine’s Day set that looks much more expensive than it is, this would be a great choice.

Cire Silver Ring Strappy Bustier by Hips and Curves:
This bustier would be fantastic by itself or as the basis for a fashionable bondage inspired outfit. Imagine it with a leather pencil skirt and a shirt over it left open to show the straps! This is a sleek and sophisticated look that will work for the bedroom and beyond – it’s a great way to embrace this fashion trend.

Strappy Stretch Lace Bra by Hips and Curves:
This is a sweeter and more casual take on the look, but still makes a striking set when combined with the matching cage back panty. Even better, it comes in three fashion colors so you have lots of choice. This is a great budget friendly choice to spice up your lingerie drawer.

Strappy Lace Cup Plus Size Chemise by Hips and Curves:
This is the chemise version of the bra and panty set above, but I think it’s a strong entry for this list independently. Again, this comes in multiple fashion colors with multiple cute matching panty options. I love the sexy and strappy top combined with the romantic and classic chemise cut and material. It’s a great fusion look that works for lots of people and should be very popular as Valentine’s Day rolls around.

What do you think of the bondage inspired lingerie trend? Do any of these pieces grab you?

This post is right up my alley – my two loves are vintage and BDSM inspired. I’ve been eyeing off several of the H&C items for some time. A harness belt has been on my lust list for many years now, and Audra Jean does fanastic looking, made to measure pieces: https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/AudraJean. Bondage inspired or high fashion, if only I had the spare cash!

Great post! The satin and lace set is absolutely lovely. I tend to prefer my edge balanced with a bit of softness, so that’s right up my alley. I’m also very pleased to see in the last photo, that the “cut” of the straps are included in the photo. I know I go on..and on…and on..(lol) about it, but when I fit this type of lingerie on women who have softer tissue, they are often disappointed, and a little turned off when the straps cut and cause tissue to bulge. Hard bodies tend to deal less with that issue, and it’s definitely the body type usually featured in these pieces. I tell my ladies it is the nature of the beast and in fact, (and some bondage fanatics may back me up on this)…the actual displacement of tissue, “cut” of fabric or leather into skin and the marks left because of it are all very desirable to the bondage enthusiast. I definitely am thinking about finding at least one of these pieces, thanks for sharing!

    Hi Holly,

Thanks so much for including my choker strap – those velvet ones are my favourites! I love that Cacique bra too, I have a thing for half-cup bras with elastic at the top (Karolina Laskowska does some gorgeous ones in my size – yet to be able to afford one though :( )

Love, love, LOVE these! I would be thrilled to wear them all. (And yes, what Babs says about the straps pressing into the flesh is, indeed, quite desirable!)
