Lilly Allen performs at Etam’s Lingerie Extravaganza
- Former lawyer creates lingerie firm after ditching law firm-Jiabei Chen, a former lawyer at a white shoe law firm, followed her entrepreneurial spirit and created a lingerie firm. Based in NYC, Ampere takes a novel approach to selling lingerie by allowing consumers a chance to find their own fit and ship the consumers multiple sizes. The consumer keeps the one that fits and sends the others back to the company. Chen says that although starting the business has been a roller coaster, she doesn’t regret leaving the law firm. Do you think that you will give Ampere a try?
- Scenes from the inaugural lingerie fashion week-This past Friday and Saturday marked the inaugural lingerie fashion week in NYC. Six designers presented their fall and winter collections to the industry. No more trade shows twice a year; the lingerie industry will have fashion week. Take a look at the wares and tell us what you think.
- In other news, an ad by a French lingerie company says breasts are lonely if they aren’t pushed together-French lingerie company Valege has created a few “interesting” ads advertising their pushup bras. The ads show spherical sets of breasts, with legs, reuniting in various situations (i.e. the airport, or on a lost and found television show). Take a look at the ads and give us your thoughts. Are they ingenious or just plain weird?
- Great women singers and a lingerie show. What more could you ask for?-French company Etam put on an amazing, all woman show at their annual lingerie and swimwear extravaganza this past Tuesday in Paris. Lilly Allen, Rita Ora, M.I.A., Lykke Li and Selah Sue all hit the stage together to give memorable sets with models strutting and showing off some of Etam’s newest pieces. Take a look at the slideshow and tell us what you think.
