Pleasure State is a brand I’ve running across more often lately, and I am increasingly intrigued by their style. They have an aesthetic which falls nicely between what I call a ‘European look’ (more fancy) and what I think of as the ‘American look’ (more casual) for lingerie…perhaps because they’re based in Australia.
Pleasure State also offers 3 different lines at a range of price points (from about $40 per bra in the White Label Collection to about $140 per bra in the Couture Collection). They also have a solid range of sizes (from A cups in the White Label collection to G cups in the VIP collection). And I think that kind of variety is great for shoppers.
I’ve posted a couple of my favorite lingerie looks from each individual line below. Do you have any thoughts about Pleasure State? Have you tried them before? And, if so, did you like them?

I really love Pleasure State’s designs, but I hate the fit of their bras. They seem to make exclusively contour-cup bras, the cups of which tend to be more thin and solid (as compared to most other brands, in Australia at least, which have softer, thicker cups). I have quite shallow breasts, and the shape of their cups entirely disagrees with me. A C is too small, and results in spillage, whereas a D (my usual size) results in my breasts simply falling out of the cups as soon as I start moving around. That, and after a couple of hours of wear they start to feel quite uncomfortable. But they’re so pretty I always forget how impractical/uncomfortable they are and buy them anyway!
I can’t say what the fit is like for someone with fuller breasts, but I know I would love Pleasure State a billion times more if they did soft cup bras, or even made their normal bras just a little more flexible in the cup shape.
Thanks for the review, Nikki! It’s always helpful to have that kind of information.
Pleasure state DO make cut and sew/non contour bras. But yes alot of their bras are contour or foam cup/moulded bras. Its funny to hear someone someone with shallow breasts say they have a problem with the cups. As I would say their contour cups are very shallow and wide. So in answer for full busts, I would say issues are similar.. cup doesn’t fit right in a smaller size and am sure a larger size would not be right and too big in places..as I needed to go up on account of the shallow cup. They are gorgeous bras though, just wish they fit better on me! I did find their ‘Lusturize’, a contour but non foam cup, with the potential for a good fit in the right size.(the one I tried was a sizee too big)
I have a gorgeous Pleasure State set that I sadly got right before I had a surgery last year. Due to inactivity my bra size increased, so I can’t wear it anymore. It’s a lovely cut and sew non molded bra, and it fit great before my size change (I went from a UK 32F to a 32G). There is no stretch to it at all, so I can’t fudge the fit. I loved that it was a rich floral print that looked high end, unique, and sexy as all get out.
We love Pleasure State at Pudding. Across the ranges we find that customers can find a good fit for their size and shape and it is some of the most stylish lingerie around. Their campaign pics are also really fabulous. Love Spell & Glimmer are featuring as Bras of the Month for March with 10% off.
I have a pleasure state set I *adore,* called Marquise ~ beautiful mix of purple brocades. I think I ended up going one size down in the cup (32C –> B), and found the fit perfect. I think it is one of my most beautiful bras ever: http://www.myshopping.com.au/ZM–1216406132_Pleasure_State_Marquise_Demi_Cup_Bra
Pleasure State – It might be the only facet of Australian fashion I don’t resent.
The extended size range is nice to have, but it is only produced for the everyday/less extravagant line, that is, White Label. Maybe this is where the ‘casual’ connotation comes from in this post – The original and best Pleasure State Couture is anything but. Do you wear Swarovski and Chantilly lace everday? Is this casual?
A non-padded bra is unusual for the label, but this might be due the Australian market; our ‘favourite bra’ has a light lining. To Nikki and Tilly; there doesn’t seem to be a standard contour used between each style. You might be forced into endless days of luxury lingerie shopping to get the shape you like per style. What a shame.
Pleasure State has a “VIP” line starting at a 30 band and DD cup. There is also now a “My Fit” line which seems to be foundation or smooth/solution pieces. It recently caused controversy in Australia over its “Cleavagely Correct” campaign. It’s a furor which would ignite debate within The Lingerie Addict readers, if it wasn’t affecting only Australia.
Coincidentally, I collect the Couture soft cup bras (highly recommended if you like this style) which are generally included each season, and do include a wider size range (namely, petite, and the brand does run small). Couture also produces astoudning nightwear in more liberal S-M-L sizing; gift-givers, are you listening?
Australia has limited exposure to lingerie (we have only just this month opened two Agent Provocateur concession stores!), so it’s very refreshing to see Pleasure State pulling its weight on a global scale. Regardless of shape or size, it gives the wearer power, confidence and a fantastic garment for all occasions.
… Who doesn’t feel fantastic in Swarovski?
