- For all my corsetieres reading this, Sidney Eileen has a tutorial on how to floss a corset. I love flossing on corsets. It’s such a beautiful decorative touch, and probably a bit practical too since I’ve heard it helps keep the bones within the corset.
- Speaking of corsets, fashion historian Valerie Steele breaks down many of the myths surrounding corsets. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Dr. Steele wrote my most favorite book on corsets ever, The Corset: A Cultural History
. If anything, she highlights the trouble with getting your information on corsets from historical fetish novels.
- Kelly Brook has designed and modeled a lingerie collection for New Look. I’m not from the UK, so I don’t know why Kelly Brooks is a celeb, but I do love the red lingerie set pictured above.
- Much to my delight, Ebony Magazine has done a feature on Black burlesque dancers. It often feels like burlesque dancers of color are completely ignored with the burlesque community, with burlesque leaders more or less insisting that there were no women of color who performed burlesque back in the day. I’m glad Ebony cleared that up.

I spotted the photos of Kelly Brook’s new line on Flickr a few days ago! So pretty! Red heart “polka” dots? Too cute.
I dig the look too. And what great timing for Valentine’s Day.
