The "Because You’re Awesome and I Love You" Dottie’s Delights Lingerie Giveaway

We don’t do very many giveaways on The Lingerie Addict. And when we do have a giveaway, it’s usually attached to a special event, like Valentine’s Day or my blogaversary or passing 10,000 fans on Facebook.

But not this giveaway.

This giveaway is all about you and your awesomeness. It’s just a small way of saying “Thank you,” for being readers, fans, and supporters of The Lingerie Addict. Because seriously, you all are amazing.

You have the chance to win a gorgeous, luxury, made-to-order lingerie set worth $238 from the very lovely Dottie’s Delights upcoming F/W 2011 range. Made of antique satin and black point d’espirt, this vintage-inspired bra and panty set is perfect for the modern pin-up girl. The sheer, peek-a-boo mesh flirtatiously reveals and conceals… and I have to say, I’m absolutely smitten with this lingerie.

The bra is available in sizes 32-36 B-DD. The knicker is available in sizes XS-XL. If the winner falls outside of the bra size range, an alternate prize of equal value will be awarded. Dottie’s Delights is made-to-order, and the set will take approximately 4-6 weeks to make and ship. This giveaway is open internationally. Further entry details are in the super-easy widget below, and the giveaway runs until next Wednesday, November 2nd at 11:59 p.m. PST. Winner will be chosen at random on Friday, November 4th.

Best of luck and thank you for reading The Lingerie Addict!

I would live in the gay nineties… that way I would be able to see the roaring 20's from a fun and mature point of view.

  6. Petra Bellejambes says:

I would live some time in the future Treacle. In that way I could have missed all the dubious fashion looks of the 70's (yes, I am that old) and spend more of my time wearing the smashing intimate looks and labels we enjoy today :)

  7. candyd123 says:

I am a retro gal for sure ~ I love the Victorian Era, however, the 40's, 50's and 60's are all fascinating to me, love the lingerie fashions!

I would definitely want to live in the present or the near future, because from here (or there) we can look at, recreate and wear all the fashions of the past, and still be in more comfortable times.

In the future, where everyone dresses with care and style as in previous eras, such as the 40s, and lives wild and creatively like the 20s….

  13. Marianne says:

The roaring 20's! The economy bounced back fast from the war, and everyone was living high! (Except for 1929,…)

  14. Emma says:

Having been raised on the classic films of the 30s and 40s, for sure, either one of those eras!

  20. Melody says:

Firstly – I'd like to thank you for making an option for bigger girls! You rarely see any giveaways that cater towards us!!

And secondly, I'd have to go with the fifties, I um and ah about this often, as I love the lingerie from both the thirties and forties also, but with the fifties involved, I could have all three decades of pretty underpinnings!

  21. gracerx says:

Maybe right around the 40's. Everyone seemed to pull together as country. Though that sweet spot right in the 70's as Punk started to ascend might have been pretty cool. I more of a sci-fi person, so how about Blade Runner the movie era?

  22. Melanie Titus says:

I would love to have been in my twenties during the 1950s!

  23. Anna says:

  24. Florence Ravelle says:

I think that considering many eras in the UK would lock me up or persecute me for being queer, now is a pretty good era!
    Fashion wise; 1920s, 1930s, or 1950s!

  25. Lingerie Lesbian says:

Honestly I like living now. The fashions of the Edwardian and Renaissance Eras tempt me, but it's not hard to forget the oppression that women and LGBT have faced through the ages. Actually, I would probably vote for the future.

  26. Tamina listening says:

This is absolutely stunning! A great giveaway idea!

  27. Jemma says:

the 20's – flapper dresses, seamed stocking and speakeasys :)

I would live today! Because I have the option to dress every era I like from the 40s to the early 60s and yet have the advantage of the digital age. Yet, I would love to visit them for xtreme shopping ;-)

  29. Jordan says:

Hands down, today. I want to live in the now where there are hundreds of different styles to choose from. While it definitely wears a whole in my wallet, I love being able to dress like a flapper one day and a 50's pinup the next. Thank you Lingerie Addict for fueling my little obsession! :)

  30. audreyaroha says:

I would live in the 1960's just to be part of the amazing revolutionary times for music, love and society :)

  31. Nikki53 says:

I wish I could live in the 1800's. The Victorian world would just have been an amazing time to be alive. And the clothes! And the corsets! And the culture!

Slightly obsessed with the Victorian era…

  32. Niko says:

I have a thing for the 60's personally

  33. Bright Young Twins says:

The 50's. The fashion is SO inspiring. Could totally do without all the sexism though. :)

  37. Cleo says:

The retro fabulous 40s /50s ( without the war and rations !)

  38. Cara says:

However much the 20's-60's makes me swoon, I'd much rather live in the present. We have so much more freedom and so many more options that I couldn't give it all up for the whimsy of a different time. The clothing makes me drool, but today we get to recreate or even FIND these pieces from the past so that's not even a worry. Also, when would I ever be able to wear a black push up bra, cuban heeled stockings, and 5 inch heels under a flirty little day dress and a cloche and not look weird or like a streetwalker?

  39. Cleo says:

    The fabulous 40s n 50s

I could do without the war and rations though :)

  40. Ligeia says:

I would love to leave in the early 20's before the 29's crack. All that vintage glamour, pin-ups, fancy hair-dos and corsets all around!!!

ps: sorry for deleting my previous comment. it was done with other gmail account :P

I would most definitely live in the 50s. I really enjoy the style and music from this decade!

  43. JP says:

This would be a nice surprise for the GF.

Tough question. Quite possibly the Medieval Era, though my life as a opinionated woman would have been quite tough then!

  45. Ella says:

I would love to go back to either the 1920s or the 1940s. Both had amazing music, fashion and dapper men!

  48. Dee Baby says:

  49. Lindsey says:

I would live in the 1940s.

  50. mary van note says:

Probably the 60s because I love the music… it seems like the most fun.

  58. Amybaby says:

I lurrve the 60's! The music and fashion was fun, rebellious and just damn incredible.

  59. Alice Sturdivant says:

as a woman of color, I'd say the 1990's — as much as I love the clothes of the 1920s and the 1790s, I just couldn't live in those times. :)

  60. Amanda Marie says:

I think I'd have liked to live in the twenties. That being said, I love my life now.
Just wanted to thank you for running such a beautiful blog! I am, in a word, smitten.

  61. Leahbaby says:

    the 1940's enough said….

  62. ValGalArt says:

I really love the 20's but i love our time now :) when i think of how we are able to realize so many of our dreams and fantasies because of the time we live in, i feel excited by that :)

  63. Maddie Smith says:

I think about this all the time and my answer always changes! Haha I am drawn to something about so many eras… right now i'll say 50's because then i'd be able to experience the 60's and 70's too. (:

18th century France, or the 50s!

  69. Ana Tomás says:

I like the era I live in pretty much, think I prefer to live now than on any of the previous ages.

  70. Marea Stamper says:

I love the fashion and glamour of the 1940's but I can't imagine giving up the freedom that we have as women (at least in America) have now. So, I would choose today, where we're free to do so many things AND wear the fashions of any era!

  71. Emanii says:

I would have to say the 20's to the 50's

The 1920's and 30's for sure.

  76. cupcakegrrl says:

Oh gosh I can't even begin to narrow it down! But I would have to say 40s/50s.

  77. Anastasia says:

"What's your favorite fashion or lingerie era?"

Favourite fashion era would be the early 1950s, clothing build for curvy amazon ladies and just beginning to be more feminine after the more military inspiration fashion-wise from the 40s. I relate most to that era. For lingerie 1930s!

  78. Allyssa says:

My favorite era would be the 50's and 60's

  79. Caitlin says:

    40s lingerie, 20s fashion.

  80. Natasha Paige says:

  81. Jillian Butler says:

I love the Roaring Twenties underthings—to this day, I've never met a slip, garter belt or satin short I didn't like. Thanks for the giveaway!

  82. aserenedeath says:

Now is my favorite era for lingerie. You can wear sexy modern underthings that are comfortable and move with your body and you can find beautiful vintage lingerie or vintage styled lingerie made by reputable companies (like Dottie's) from almost any era in history!
You can really have it all and you have the freedom to choose what you wear under there ;)

  83. va says:

  84. va says:

i dont have twitter . do i still qualify for your giveaway ? thanks

  85. izodiea says:

Answer the question, "What's your favorite fashion or lingerie era?"

18th century! I love the corsets and the panniers. They look sexy whether historical or modernized.

  86. purpleboots says:

I have the figure for the 40s/50s/60s but I think the 20s are the prettiest.

  87. Aleia says:

    Marie Antoinette's time

  88. Molly says:

I love the 40's-60's. I'm just a big fan of dresses and sweaters and high wasted coloured trousers, what can I say.

  89. Tasha says:

As a larger chested lady, I'm very glad that you are offering an alternative prize!

  90. Jordann says:

My favorite fashion/lingerie era is definitely now. I can wear whatever I want, in whatever style I want, and do it because I want to and because it looks good on me, not because I have to or because I'm expected to. Also I have all of the previous era's to use for inspiration.

  91. Bella Blithely says:

    How exciting!!

What is my favourite era for lingerie? I would have to say early fifties. Garter belts that were functional AND gorgeous, trosseaus, nylon replacing art silk stockings… The photos of Bettie Page are enough to convince anyone!

  92. Elizabeth Frey says:

    The 40's!!!!!

  93. HellenB says:

Am a big fan of the 20's & 30's, although I have to admit I have no idea what lingerie was like then!

  94. Geekgirly says:

Lingerie never goes out of style!

  95. Acajou Joie says:

What's my favorite fashion or lingerie era? I would have to say the 1950's. There is something so utterly elegant about slipping into a wiggle dress that hits all your curves with a waist cincher, garter, and nylon stockings on underneath. Or being care free and happy in a swing skirt that twirls around your legs with every step you take. How could I not like the 1950's fashion? It's elegance mixed with seductiveness, the perfect combination.

  96. Kirsten Moore says:

i love now! that is total copout, because i don't have to choose. i love mixing my eras, or wearing one one day and another the next. anything victorian, edwardian, 1920's-early 1960's have long influenced my personal style.

  97. Niels says:

Present day suits me just fine

  98. MJ Moore says:

I looove fashion from the 50s. So glamorous and sophisticated!

  100. KianteWench says:

I love the Victorian Era but a close second (and something not quite as constricting) is the 40's era.

  101. Lauren says:

I am a historical costumer and study and recreate clothing from eras spanning 1,000 years, but I have to say that I believe that the Edwardian era has the most grace and elegance for women. The S-curve corsets give a certain sort of sophistication, beauty, and poise that the corsets of earlier times (though I love them as well) seem to lack.

As for more "modern" lingerie, I'm a sucker for the 1950s. I'm obsessed with Dior's New Look!

  102. a lovely corpse says:

I would either say Victorian or the original era of pin-up

  103. wewantrevolutiongirlstylenow says:

The 1950s is by FAR the best lingerie and fashion era. I absolutely adore rolling on my stockings, snapping them to my garter belt, putting on a bullet bra and slipping on a wiggle dress or pencil skirt and blouse with some cute heels and red lipstick. It makes me feel a million bucks.

  104. Melody says:

Firstly – Thank you for including the bigger girls in the giveaway!

Secondly – I always um and ah, because I really love 20's-50's underwear, but I love 50's styles and fashions so much more than the 20's-40's.

    So the 50's!!

  105. Danielle Villano says:

The 40s and 50s are certainly my favorite era for that fashion! :)

  106. Hannah Jane says:

Oh I love 40s and 50s era lingerie!!

  107. deanna cannonball says:

  110. Emily says:

I would live in the 50s, when fully fashioned stockings were more of the norm than this lycra mess.

  111. Eire says:

I'd have to say that I've always been a big fan of '50s fashion in both lingerie, and just in general.

  112. Basileia says:

Like many, I adore 1950s lingerie for its lush fabrics and curve flattering cuts <3

  113. Cris says:

    i really love this

  114. Burklee Gee says:

I think the present is where it's all at, =) because we have the ability to build upon all the great fashions of the past (and throw out the ones that weren't so great while we're at it) and I can look forward to all the innovative fashions that are yet to come in the future. =)

  115. Roxy says:

Definitely the Roaring '20s and the Victorian era. Seems so feminine and sexy to me.

The 1940s to 1950s for sure!!

My favourite fashion era: definitely the 60s. The childlike manner of dress is something I try to emulate today. However, when it comes to lingerie, I enjoy the style of the 1940s – the stockings and girdles, delightfully good and proper ;)

It's incredibly difficult to choose. Does it count if I say the present? I feel like no time has ever been as inventive in fashion, or as liberal in lingerie. I love it! But besides today, I would have to say my favorite fashion/lingerie era would be the rococo period. I want a Marie Antoinette wardrobe!
