For the past month or so, I’ve been feeling really cruddy. Sore throat, epic fatigue, pounding headaches and the like. I chalked it up to stress, seasonal affective disorder, or even outright laziness, but after feeling a little too bad for a little too long, I finally buckled down and went to the doctor–where I learned that I have “The Kissing Disease” a.k.a. Mononucleosis.
The good news is that the worst appears to be over. The bad news is that I probably could have been all better by now had I gotten diagnosed when I first started feeling bad and taken the appropriate steps.
Fortunately, most of my posts for the next two weeks are already planned (didn’t think I’d leave you in the lurch for Valentine’s Day, did you?), but I may be a bit slow returning comments or e-mails. I want to spend the next couple of weeks really trying to get well.
Please keep e-mailing, commenting, or tweeting at me, & believe me when I say that talking to you guys is some of the best medicine out there.

Take it easy. We will be wretched and rudderless without you, but would much prefer you just taking it easy, getting well, and shouldering your beautiful labor only when you are 100%.
