I. Love. These. Leggings.
If you don’t read anything else in this article, at least now you know that James Lillis’ shiny tights ROCK, and you should go buy his stuff immediately.
I’ve worn the Black Spartans a few times to 80′s night at the local disco, and not only do the leggings look great, not only do they feel great, I always, always get mad compliments on them.
You already know this leggings trend has been going on for a few seasons, but until now I’ve been afraid to indulge. See, I have what my friends back home call an “apple bottom.” My booty is, for lack of a better word, rotund. Most leggings simply couldn’t accommodate my shape.
A few months after I’d all but given up hope, I found Too Many Tights (James’s blog) through Stockingirl. Back then, James mostly posted photos of other people’s work, but every once in awhile he’d sneak in some of his own designs. After awhile, it became apparent that Black Milk was like nothing else on the market.
Still, I hesitated. After all, James lives in Australia and I live in Seattle. The only people I saw wearing his tights on the blog were women who were considerably more “modelesque” than me. I e-mailed James with my concerns (and my measurements), and he custom fit my leggings to my ample derriere. Not just that,he even e-mailed me a few weeks later to make sure the fit was right.
Factor in that he keeps coming up with unique, innovative, drop-dead-sexy designs and, in my opinion, James Lillis can do no wrong. I’m just glad that I bought something before he really takes off.
P.S. If the designs aren’t for you, Black Milk also produces basic, “wet look” leggings. At only $40 (and free shipping!!!), they’re damn near a steal.
I have a pair of James' gold Cage tights, and they are awesome (though I have not been brave enough to wear them out yet! I have thigh-confidence issues. But they look great around my bedroom ;) ). I also love reading his blog everyday, totally entertaining!

James is the king, I am now onto my 5th pair of his creations, and my beady eyes are all over the spartan body suit.
If I was rich, I would own 99% of everything he has ever made. Fact.
And people are already biting his style, my theory is buy as much of his shizzle before the celebs get on it…That is what I tell my hubby as he rolls his eyes sky high.

The Black Spartans were the first (and so far only) Black Milk item I own. I am desperately craving the Suspender Tights because I love all things gartered. And heaven knows that I am going to lose my mind when James releases those bodysuits.
As for his rapidly rising star, I completely agree. He's like the stock market, and now's the time to buy, buy, buy!

I didn't really like them at first and I was a little late on the adoption curve, but I'm loving them now. I'm going to definitely have to check James out.
