Let’s see…I’ve talked about the kind of dresses I wear to work, and the kind of shoes I wear to work, but I’ve yet to reveal the sort of pretties I wear while at the office. It’s no secret that I’m fan of luxurious (if often vaguely uncomfortable) lingerie. But I also appreciate a well-made basic, and I find the panties I turn to again and again are On the Inside’s “Forget Me Not” boyshorts.
I own seven different pairs of this panty, in varying patterns and colors, and each one fits like a dream. Handmade out of gorgeous stretch lace, they’re elegant, comfortable, and, with that cheeky cut, undeniably sexy. Plus, at $19/pair, they’re really quite affordable. As a matter of fact, I think it’s time for me restock my panty drawer. Now that I’ve told you everything there is to know about my daily wardrobe, let’s get on with the review.
Today, in celebration of the first ever “Wear Stockings to Work Week,” I decided to wear actual stockings. Yes, I do mean the kind that require garters. Let me tell you, I did not make this decision lightly. It was very important to me that my stockings not only come up very high on the thigh, but also that whatever gartered item I wore with them be so inconspicuous that no one would notice I was wearing stockings instead of tights.
Finally, I settled upon my Lady Marlene garter skirt (reviewed here), and my Victoria’s Secret basic black stockings. I chose the garter skirt for its smooth lines, and the VS stockings for their plainness and stretchiness.
Rarely do I write an unequivocally positive review, but I believe these stockings deserve it. They felt great. They stretched well. They held up all day. And they only cost $8.50/pair (less if you visit RetailMeNot for a coupon code). If you have absolutely have to wear stockings to work, make it these. The Victoria’s Secret stockings are A+ buy all around.

How wide is the gusset on those panties? I've seen them before and considered getting a pair or two myself, but boyshorts are ironically not usually a boy friendly style.
Hi Mr. Lovely Ladybug!
That's a great question, and thank you for commenting.
Even compared to other panties I own, I have to say the gusset on these is quite narrow.I'm afraid they may not give enough coverage for my male readers.
But isn't part of the fun of wearing stockings dropping some subtle hint that you are wearing stockings, instead of tights?
Hi Janus!
I can't speak for everyone, but wearing stockings for me is fun. No one else has to know I'm wearing stockings for me to enjoy them.
Furthermore, just as I believe it's unprofessional to flash a nipple or show your panties at work, it's just as inappropriate to reveal your garter straps.
There's nothing fun about getting fired. :-(
I was thinking along the line of some of the photos that Nick Danger has posted on his site. The only indication that the subject is wearing stockings is the bump of the garter snap. Is that still showing too much?
For me, yes.
There is no reason for any of my co-workers to know what kind of underwear I have on, and that includes garter straps.
The work place is not the place to drop hits as to what kind of lingerie you are wearing. If you are going to wear stockings to work, make them thigh highs that don't have to be pinned.
