Ask the Addict: Hooters Pantyhose, Lingerie Detergent, and Femme Knickers

A few questions that have popped up in my e-mail lately…

Q:Where can I find shiny pantyhose similar to those the waitresses at my favorite sports bar wear?
A: Stocking Showcase. Without a doubt, they have the best selection of shiny pantyhose I’ve seen online, including several items from the ever-popular Peavey brand.

Q: I know a boy who sometimes likes to dress as a girl. What kind of lingerie would help him create a girlish figure?
A: Without getting into hardcore body-modification garments (like corsets) I find details like ruching and graduated padding (click on links for examples) help with the illusion of curves. If your friend also likes to wear women’s shoes, Alexis4U recently started carrying Le Dame footwear which is feminine styled footwear with the extra reinforcing for a masculine frame.

Q: What detergent should I use to clean my stockings and other hosiery?
A: Most lingerie is delicate, therefore I recommend investing in a specialty lingerie and/or hosiery cleanser. My personal favorite for all my nylons is Hosiery Mate. However, a very gentle soap, like baby shampoo, is also a good alternative. Remember–always hand wash your stockings, squeeze gently, and hang to dry.

When I worked at Hooters, we bought our tights from a dispenser in the women's bathroom for $5. I'm not sure if you can still do that…. :)
