My first two tries with garter panties have been more than a little disappointing. Nevertheless, they say the third time’s the charm, so I threw caution to the wind and bought the pair above from Etsy seller On The Inside.
Details are scanty on her web store, but she says the panty is made from red mesh with black lace trim, and has four satin loops with detachable garters. They’re available in sizes XS-XL. Unlike the other two garter panties I reviewed which were more of a boyshort style, this one is like a hipster. I’d purchased other items from her (namely the Forget-Me-Not boyshorts) so I was eager to give these a try.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed again.
But let’s start off with what’s right about these panties. Because the seller is a one woman show, she was able to custom craft a pair of panties to fit my unique measurements (28″ waist and 41″ hips). The panty not only fits well, but looks good with the sheer front and back giving just the right dose of scandal. To me, they feel like a modern interpretation of the classic cabaret. In fact, I liked everything about these panties up until I tried to wear stockings with them.
On The Inside’s garter panty, while a good idea in theory, just doesn’t work out in practice. The garters were much too long to hold my stockings at anything approaching a reasonable height, even after I tightened them all the way. I won’t even talk about the plastic adjusters and fastening clips.
Worst of all, however, the red mesh and black lace, while cute, is simply too flimsy to support the tension from nylons. I made the mistake of putting these on with a pair of fishnets just before going to the grocery store, and halfway through my shopping my panties were slipping off my bum and my welts were down around my knees. Not a good look.
I’ll likely just remove the garters and wear these as a regular pair of panties. They’re more than nice enough for that.
