Above is a pic of the Sexy Satin thigh-highs (stay up) by Victoria’s Secret. $12.50/pair (USD), 15 denier, nylon/spandex blend.
Despite the advertising, Victoria’s Secret hasn’t meant “sexy” to me in a very long time. Most of their lingerie is cheap, trashy, classless, and wayyy overpriced for the quality. So why buy the stockings at all? Because I can’t spend $30.00 on stockings all the time. I’m a college kid and the American dollar sucks.
However, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised I liked these stockings as much as I did. 1) The matte satin band at the top feels and looks quite luxurious for the price. 2) I found the one wide, stretchy silicone band inside the welt to be leaps and bounds more comfortable than the usual two or three narrow bands. 3) The stocking itself stretches easily to fit a variety of leg shapes and seems fairly durable.
I wouldn’t recommend these stockings for a dressy evening out. Though they look nice enough, they don’t look expensive. In addition, the nylon/spandex blend doesn’t feel as pleasant on the leg. But for a budget pair of hosiery that won’t make you throw a fit if they happen to snag, these work just fine.
